Vinification Details

The grapes are harvested from February through to March by machine, this is done at night time to capture the freshness in the grapes. As soon as the grapes are harvested they are transported direct to the winery nearby, where they are crushed, de-stemmed and pressed. After this fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks at 14-16 °c for four weeks. Following this a portion of the wine under goes Malolactic Fermentation and the rest of the wine is aged on oak staves.

History

Andrew Peace wines is a family owned and operated business, comprising a modern winery and a 180 hectares wine grape vineyard. The Peace family's achievements in creating a commercially successful vineyard/winery business in recent years have been little short of amazing, demonstrating a strong capacity to utilise technology, with enormous hard work and exceptional planning skills.

Regional Information

The Andrew Peace winery is surrounded by an eclectic natural landscape of Red Gum forest, desert, river, outback and lagoons. The warm and reliable climate of the Swan Hill region with its long warm sunny days, combined with the irrigation from the mighty Murray River, and rich red-brown loamy sand over limestone soils produce healthy flavoursome grapes with great expression and tannin profile.
