Description

Red Wine.We are focusing towards sustainable agriculture, co-existing with nature without damaging it. We have a comprehensive waste recycling policy, and we incorporate the use of alternative energy sources into the production systems.Polígono refers to the many sides of a vineyard. Sebastián Zuccardi explores those many sides with grape selections from the micro regions of Mendoza, discovering how they impact on the wines in their unique ways. This Malbec has a deep herbaceous character with black red fruits and spices. A wild, intense wine with good structure and great finish.
In 1963 Tito Zuccardi planted the family's first vineyard to demonstrate his innovative and efficient new irrigation methods. This vineyard led him to discover his passion for viticulture and paved the way for the next generation of the family. Zuccardi want to make wines which express their origin, the essence of their soils and the extreme climate conditions of our vineyards in the heart of every glass.

History

Some years before 1950, engineer Alberto ‘Tito' Zuccardi arrived in Mendoza from Tucumán, in northwest Argentina where his Italian grandparents had settled years before. He began experimenting with new irrigation systems because, back then as is the case today, water management is key due to its scarcity. In 1963 he planted a vineyard in the Maipú region, aiming to show other neighbouring farmers how his irrigation system worked, not realising that this would be the beginning of his life's passion.

Regional Information

The unique soils of the Uco Valley were formed thousands of years ago when ancient glaciers melted and formed raging rivers, known as 'brazos', that flowed from the Andes Mountains. These glacial rivers have helped create a rich landscape where native flowers, insects, and animals flourish. A perfect environment for cultivating the best grapes in Argentina.
