Smoked gammon joint formed from selected cuts of cured pork leg with added water.Northern Irish Smoked Gammon JointFrom Trusted Farms. Gently wood smoked for a deep and intense flavour.

Preparation and Usage

Remove all packaging but leave casing on if boiling. For best results we recommend boiling this product.

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours in the fridge. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.

Oven

Instructions: OVEN 190C/ Fan 170C/ Gas 5. Place joint on a roasting tray and cover with foil. Place into the centre of a pre-heated oven and cook for 30 minutes per 500g plus 30 minutes. Remove foil for last 30 minutes of cooking. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before carving.

Microwave

Instructions: Not suitable for microwave cooking.

Hob

Instructions: Place joint in a pot and cover with fresh cold water. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer gently for 25 minutes per 500g plus 20 minutes extra at the end of cooking time. Remove cooked joint from water and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving. Remove outer casing before carving.
