no more Indian takeaway's for me
nice to use as a base sauce for tikka masala. mix it with Chilli Garlic in the range and you've got a homemade Indian. add 4 to 5 pints of water mix that with Goldfish Chinese Curry Sauce just less than half a tub and add a little cornflour to thicken. that makes me 4 curry's. marinade 5 chicken breasts in the fridge for 2 to 3 days with 500g natural yogurt with half a jar of patakas masala paste. then in the oven on 200 for 45 to 50 minutes , once cooked dice and add to the sauce you made.
Bland tastes more like a red pesto than tikka cur

Don't buy this. It tastes like pasta bake sauce.

Horrific.
You couldn’t pay me to eat this again. I made gorgeous fluffy rice and tender chicken just for it to be obliterated by this vinegary abomination. Apparently Jamie Oliver is still on a mission to murder british cuisine (national dish is tikka masala for some reason) ,like he already has with turkey twizzlers and if his restaurant hadn’t shut down in my town I would egg it for this. I thought long and hard for something to save this with but the only thing I think would be able to is prayers from Mother Teresa herself.

Awful, ridiculous, vinegar curry
I registered to leave this review, I feel so annoyed for having bought it! I used as recommended with coconut milk and tried a little, all I could taste was VINEGAR! Who puts vinegar in Tikka Masala? This just further increases my loathing for Jamie Oliver. Horrendous. Avoid at all costs. Unless, like another reviewer said, you fancy some "vinegar curry". Just awful. NO STARS
Flavourful mild curry
This is an excellent curry for children. It is mild enough that the whole family can enjoy while maintaining excellent flavour. We pair with both chicken for the meat eaters in the house and gnocchi for the vegetarians among us.
Very little flavour
Unfortunately this had very little flavour.
If Jamie Oliver and Bland had a baby......
You have to wonder how many 'celebrity' chefs the makers of this stuff went to before they got to the one that sticks his name on anything he can. My recommendation would be to not even look at this on the shelf, because the mere sight of it will create blandness innyour life that you have never before experienced. How anyone can put aromatic spices in a jar with tomato paste and oil and have it create an absolutely tasteless goop is beyond me. Do yourself a favour and grab some curry powder and tomato puree. Half the price and infinitely more flavoursome than this waste of ingredients.
Surprised Jamie Oliver's name is on this
This was a great disappointment. The sauce did not thicken and the flavour was non-descript. I won't buy this again. I only bought it because it was, oddly, the only option listed for tikka paste.
