Jamie's Tomato Soup?
Thought I'd try this new product as I usually only use Pataks Madras paste and basically the labelling here looked convincing, with words like "Hot and Punchy".. OMG was I disappointed. No wonder Jamie Oliver's restaurant's went bankrupt. This was totally bland and tasteless when compared to a real hot curry paste. (PATAKS) During the cooking I tasted it, added more paste and eventually gave up on it. Throwing in 3 finger chilli's and a heap of Chilli powder, plus Garlic paste gave it a good measure of improvement, but it just lacked the range and depth of flavours that I'm used to. To summarize I definitely won't be buying this product in the future, it wasn't made for me. Probably more suited to the Soy generation.
Thought we would try something new and were expect
Thought we would try something new and were expecting a real flavour hit, a chilli explosion. A beautiful scorching adult curry. This is a perfectly acceptable curry paste, very tasty. The family enjoyed it cooked with chicken thigh, peppers, onions, coriander and a tin of chopped tomatoes but it didn’t pack a punch as hoped. Not even close. Our 11 year old daughter ate a bowlful of leftovers declaring it “lovely but not hot at all” A great midweek meal…flavourful ….but for those who are looking for a chilli hit in their curry paste….try another brand
