Quick flavoursome meal
Wonderful flavour and quick to put together. I marinated some diced chicken breast in the paste for a couple of hours. Then separately fried mixed peppers and onion - making them slightly chargrilled and put them aside. Next fried the marinated chicken and added a small amount of tinned chopped tomato (to give a touch of sauce), then added the chargrilled peppers and onion and heated it all through. Served with naan bread, chutney and sambals.
Overpowering taste of Lime
Overpowering with Lime, I cant taste anything else but lime. Its similar to eating lime pickle
Great chicken marinade ....
Didn't even think of it as a Keralan Curry paste, we just use it as a rub/marinade over chicken breast cubes - leave in the fridge a few hours then grill on skewers. Delicious in a wrap with a spicy yogurt dressing and a bit of chilli jam & salad - a family midweek fave. A store cupboard basic. Even the name just suggests 'inspired' rather than the real thing...
Sadly disappointed.
Very one dimensional, plenty of heat but not the depth of flavour that I was hoping for. I added some of my regular curry paste to it and it definitely helped to improve the overall flavour. Sadly disappointed. I wouldn’t purchase again.
The worst curry paste I’ve ever tried
This is the worst curry paste I’ve ever tasted. It tastes extremely vinegary and lacks depth…or any other Indian type flavouring. I wanted to try and create a quick fish curry, but I was hugely disappointed. Would never buy again.
Too much vinegar, not good.
This recipe has been change since the tops used to be black. So disappointed with the new ones they all have far too much vinegar in them which overpowers everything. I will not be purchasing from now on, the Spice Tailor kits are much better and taste great.
Amazing
Really nice. Cooked some thighs, added the paste, then added coconut milk, tiny bit of passata and a dash of cream at the end. Couldn’t believe how good it was for a shop brought paste
In Kerala we don't have any curry in this flavour.
In Kerala we don't have any curry in this flavour. What a disappointment. I won't recommend it.
Smells more like chippy than Delhi
Very strange and acidic flavour. Will not buy again.
Delicious!
Heated the paste, threw in cooked aubergine, red pepper and green beans. Added half can of coconut milk plus half pint of vegetable stock. Simmered it till the sauce was thick and it was the tastiest shop bought curry I have ever eaten, hands down. Husband agreed. It was as good as our favourite restaurant curry.
