Wynns is the iconic name of Australian wine, rooted in the rugged beauty of Coonawarra, South Australia. Our story began in 1891, when Scottish pioneer John Riddoch recognised the potential in the fierce, red Terra Rossa soil, a narrow, vivid strip of earth that demands respect from those who work it.Over the decades, Wynns has become the epitome of quality and excellence. We embrace a brutally elegant duality: the raw, untamed power of our landscape, refined into a wine of exceptional quality. It is a testament to our winemakers’ dedication to the craft that this challenging, ancient soil yields award-winning results. When you choose Wynns, you choose flavour as deep and enduring as the heritage that forged it.

History

Wynns Coonawarra Estate was the first winery to be established in Coonawarra by John Riddoch in 1896. The wine is named after the railway siding - a local landmark that played a defining role during Coonawarra's early settlement. Completed in 1898, 'The Siding' was responsible for transporting around 600 hogsheads of wine a year to Adelaide
