Two in the bush shirazAged in tight grain French oak for 16 months, our 'Two in the Bush' Shiraz has rich aromas of vanilla, blackberry and a hint of chocolate which resonates on the palate. This medium bodied Shiraz displays the elegance and complexity of cooler climate red winemaking.
The Bird in Hand vineyards, winery, cellar door and restaurant thrive in the nurturing hands of the founding Nugent family.

Vinification Details

The fruit was destemmed with a large proportion of whole berries transferred into open fermenters. Fermented with a combination of wild and specially selected yeast strains, the parcels then spent between 7-12 days on skins before being transferred to French oak barrels (15% new) for 16 months.

History

Founded in 1997 by Andrew and Susie Nugent, Bird in Hand is still family owned. Originally a dairy farm, Bird in Hand Winery champions social inclusions and advocacy through artisan wine.

Regional Information

Adelaide Hills has a well deserved reputation as one of Australia's most exciting cool climate areas. Due to its altitude, the region is significantly cooler than its neighbours. Long dry summers and Autumns lead to wonderful acidity in the fruit.
