Unnatural, medicinal taste
What were the development people at Mcvities thinking when they decided to sell these? Sickly sweet and very weird taste, reminds me of children's tylenol...
Stick to the orange Jaffa Cakes.
The blackcurrant, tastes nothing like blackcurrant. It tastes and smells awful. Smells and tastes like hand sanitiser. Barely edible. Stick to the orange Jaffa Cakes.
Love these as an alternative to the standard jaffa
Love these as an alternative to the standard jaffas. Bursting with flavour and very moreish
Sponge was hard, would not know it was blackcurrant - not very nice
Fabulous taste 'intense' blackcurrant jelly on top of soft vanilla sponge covered with sweet dark chocolate! Great hit in our house!! We stock up while on half price offer!
My favourite by far aside from the original orange
My favourite by far aside from the original orange. I have tried all of the flavours and this one to me has the most pronounced flavour and to be honest I didn't think this combination would work but I found it most pleasant for a change of taste, when I tried the passion fruit I couldn't pick up much passion fruit at all but the blackcurrant in these was nice and tangy, will definitely buy these again.
K shared these with my family and my work colleagu
K shared these with my family and my work colleagues, no one liked them. in all honesty, there's nothing wrong with them but they are not Jaffa Cakes. Re-brand them and change people's expectations of what they are and they may be more acceptable ( I appreciate that this feedback is relevant to McVitie's not Tesco)
Just tried these for the first time, they are AMAZING, so blackcurranty, lovely flavour got some more today 👌
When I first tried one of these, I wasn't sure whether I liked it. I do like blackcurrant flavour and I do like dark chocolate flavour, but combining these 2 flavours together created an unfamiliar taste that took a while to decide about. However, by the time I finished my 2nd blackcurrant jaffa cake I was hooked. Yes, I do like them very much. The blackcurrant flavour is strong but don't expect these cakes to taste like Ribena drink or fresh blackcurrants because the presence of chocolate alters the resulting flavour (though not negatively). I applaud McVities for introducing these novel flavours (cherry, pineapple, etc.) because many chocolate biscuits and cakes these days are just minor variations on the same theme - they taste pretty much alike. But blackcurrant and chocolate is an imaginative and creative idea - it's a bit different from the ordinary!
Interesting enough, not 100% on the flavour though
