Tough and Chewy Fillet.
Been buying the cheaper fillet steaks and thought I would give these a go. Eventually found 2 that looked worth buying but when opened they both had lots of fat hidden underneath, obviously not visible through the packaging. When cooked they were very chewy. On a positive note the dog's enjoyed them as they had most of them. My advice would be to stick to the cheaper one's
Too thick but cooked & tasted great when cut thin
Bought this for my Husband's birthday dinner. It was so thick I was concerned about it cooking all the way through (we like our meat to be totally dead) I decided to cut it in half so that it was 2 thinner pieces, it was no problem with a reasonably sharp knife and I felt a lot happier about cooking it. I dry fried it as my grill isn't great and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely order it again for the next special occasion.
For supermarket meat this is really quite good. I would recommend it.
Disappointing. Still have to trim the large veins as you do with the standard fillet steak so you may as well buy the cheaper thinner one which is tenderer.
Worth paying for
Excellent steaks - great flavour and texture and every bit as good as we buy from the local butcher. Worth the price.
Excellent product. Please do not remove from your range. Expensive but tender & tasty with no waste.
Not as good as expected. A little gristly. Not as flavourful as the m&s one
