DUBIOUS, WHATEVER HAVE THEY PUT ON THESE PARSNIPS
I buy these parsnips often as we love roast parsnips with a Sunday Roast and the frozen efforts really don’t cut it. We also enjoy carrot and parsnip mash (Tara Ramsey’s Christmas recipe - delightful) I bought a bag to do this mash with a steak meal, but yuck - as soon as I went to clean and scrap the peeling off it was sticky to the touch. Whatever are Tesco coating their fresh parsnips in please?
The parsnips looked fine through the plastic but on opening found they were already beginning to ferment, smelt dreadful and were slimy. However on reporting to Tesco I was given a quick response and refund.
poor quality - rotten in 24 hours from purchase
bought this product on a Saturday afternoon, opened the bag so they were not stuck in plastic - come Sunday evening they were soft and disintegrating - had to throw the entire pack out. Out of season product but not stored well.
Only one was fresh in my last packet..not good at all.
Already fermenting in the bag, awful.
Emptied bag as soon as it arrived and used them that night after a lot of waste. I normally get the loose ones, although they also come in a single use bag, disgusting that Tesco still aren't giving you the option to have them loose or in a paper bag
threw them away
mouldy after two days
These were dreadful in my C&C 20 June, fermenting inside the bag. Unfortunately put away in fridge before I noticed. Fridge was filled with a bad smell before I found and removed the culprits. More waste. They were obviously allowed to get too warm whilst in the warehouse!
Wet and beginning to rot!
These arrived in a sealed, closed bag and the inside of the bag was so wet the parsnips had begun to rot. I had to cut the rotten and rotting bits off - and it was a good proportion that had begun to rot or was already rotten - and put them on paper towel to dry. I know stores are finding the supply and delivery of veg difficult at this time, but as these were "born" in Yorkshire I sort of expect them to be delivered in good condition....
not that bad
do me fine i sometimes need to wash em before i roast but only if i leave them a week and they taste very much the same as the more expensive ones
