Good eggs at a fair price

Good eggs. Why pay more? Suggest change of name to omit "caged" which upsets some of the snowflakes.

Tesco stop selling eggs from caged birds

1 stars

Tesco said that it would discontinue selling eggs from caged birds but here they are. The suppliers did not stop caging hens just gave them a slightly enlarged cage. I for one will stop shopping in Tesco until I see that this product is no longer on the shelves. 10 hens lived another day in hell to produce those 10 eggs. They will live like this for 72 weeks then be sold off, slaughtered and used in pet food. Re the comment about plastic packaging, yes this is also unnecessary and irresponsible. So avoid supporting the use of plastic and think of those hens, you will surely not enjoy eating the eggs. One Tesco egg supplier has been prosecuted in the recent past for supplying substandard eggs from their caged birds.

terrible

Eating CAGED hen eggs in this day and age is disgusting. What a poor life those animals are having!

Just let you know

Free range means the hens have the possibility to go out about 1 meter for an hour daily. They are still caged 24/7. Mostly they don’t do it because too many hens caged in one place. There’s no such a thing as free range. It’s only marketing. Wake up people. If you want free range hens, have it in your garden or have a farm.

Great eggs, especially for those on a budget.

A real shame to see caged eggs on sale in a major supermarket. A backwards step in animal welfare and food quality.

Great eggs.
