  • FWP Matthews Ltd is one of the last remaining family owned specialist flour mills in Great Britain. The business traces its history back to the 1860s when farmer Marmaduke Matthews began trading in corn and seeds from his barn in the Cotswold village of Fifield in Oxfordshire.
  • The Matthews Cotswold flour mill is still owned and run by father and son team Paul and Bertie Matthews, the 5th and 6th generation of Matthews. We continue to use traditional, authentic milling methods from our original 1912 building. Matthews Flour represents an important part of our local Cotswold farming heritage.
  • Situated in the middle of the beautiful Cotswold hills in the village of Shipton under Wychwood, this traditional mill produces a range of authentic quality, organic, healthy, continental and specialist Cotswold Flours.

Great for bread and pizzas

Matthews Strong White Flour. I strongly recommend this for baking bread. It has a high protein content so it makes a lovely loaf with a nice even crumb - important to me once I have gone to the trouble of baking! I bake a normal white loaf for sandwiches & toast and it is yummy. I also use it for making my pizza bases. British flour at its best.

Great to see Tesco supporting a specialist producer.This flour gives a good loaf, for more flavour mix with either their Wholemeal flour or Crunch flour. O K for a bread machine. Please stock more of Matthews Flour range Tesco
