No longer low fat

1 stars

I used to eat lots of these because they were low fat. But they were reformulated and the fat went up by a factor of 10 to 10%. ie 10g per 100g.

Bleh

1 stars

I have to agree with other reviewers that the old ones were so much better. These seem to be very inconsistent in flavour, to the point where I thought the plain ones had been mistakenly packed in the salt and vinegar packaging, until I finally got a salt and vinegar flavoured one halfway through the packet... They’re also higher in calories now which can add up!

The rice cakes are great but they go stale quickly

5 stars

The rice cakes are great but they go stale quickly. The previous packaging was better because the metal closure kept the rice cakes fresh.

4 stars

As good as any of the top of the range in these type of products and almost half the price. Tasty and very crisp.

Way too thick and stale

1 stars

Why are these now so thick and have a consistency like polystyrene? Instead of being light and crunchy like all other rice cakes, and like these used to be before they were “improved” they have the texture of stale rice cakes, straight out of a freshly opened bag. They are also just under double the thickness?! Why? The ‘flavour’ is just a horrible grainy powder that’s so unevenly spread, it just sits in one part of the rice cake. Please, please go back to the old ones. I bought three packs and will be returning them all. They are disgusting.

Yum! Oh no, wait a minute...

2 stars

In a blind taste test, I'd swear I was eating cardboard... slightly flavoured cardboard, but cardboard nonetheless... I don't mind the new texture, but they could do with wwwaaayyy more flavouring. If the lack of taste is to keep the cost down, put the retail price up - I wouldn't mind paying more for something I actually enjoy... maybe the rice cakes and the flavouring have been observing the social distancing rules, remaining 2 metres apart at all times?

Ditch the corn grits please Tesco

4 stars

These are very tasty, but I don't see the necessity for the corn grits. It doesn't add anything and just gets stuck in your teeth. These would be much better without it.

absolutely awful

1 stars

I have never in my life eaten something so bad I have felt compelled to leave a review about it. what the heck are these? The old ones were brilliant, then came off the shelves for ages and they bring these out, no flavor AT ALL, taste like polystyrene mixed with chalk and dusted with cement. AND more calories per cake, what was the point. Starving children in war stricken countries would turn these down.

Bring back the old recipe

2 stars

I do not like the new recipe. They don't have the same texture and seem to break easy in the bag. Also they have more calories than the old recipe.

2 stars

Definitely a step backwards. No idea why the changed the recipe. Less flavour and worse consistency. And more calories per rice cake.
