Regional Information

The Douro region is one of the best-known regions in Portugal. The region follows the inland stretches of the Douro River that flows from the Spanish border to Porto. Its slate-like soil and hot, dry climate means vine roots have to delve deep to access water reserves, meaning vines produce low yields of concentrated grapes that make wines full of deliciously ripe dark fruit flavours.

Vinification Details

The grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruit character. There is no use of oak, resulting in a deliciously drinkable red bursting with juicy fruit characters.

History

Sogrape Vinhos is a family-run company founded in 1942. Today, they are the proud owner of more than 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal and have a superb reputation for quality wines.
