Don't waste your money !
I have to agree with all of the other reviews. At the bottom of this tin there were about two tablespoons of red-coloured unidentifiable "mush" which I suppose was composed of strawberries; but they looked as if they'd all melted and stuck together. They certainly bore no resemblance to the lovely juicy strawberries shown on the tin. In addition to this, the tin was half-full of a juicy liquid which I assume was the "light syrup." Certainly not worthy of a decent dessert; will never buy again.
Is description compliant with current standards?
the tin is mostly, two thirds, full of watery syrup. Th currently unavailable Tesco brand was as bad but that was cheaper. the ingredients list is supposed to list the principal item first. Both by weight and volume this is "Watery Syrup" with strawberries a very poor second. One of the worst product quality in the Tesco range.
not worth buying
i was a royal gardener ive grown strawbs most of my life ,ive never seen strawbs so small and annemic ,strawbs are red not white and the tin containted barely enough to fill a small match box ,bought twice same miserable contents all juice no strawbs not enough to fill a small tart with
These are nice tasting strawberries but you only get half a tin. Therefore they are very expensive. Shame on you Princes and Tesco.
All juice, very little strawberry!
Whilst quality isn't an issue, the quantity is a disgrace! 129g drained weight from a 410g tin? We opened them to discover all of 9 strawberries lying in the bottom, less than a third of the tin size. The should be in a smaller tin, so that people realise just how little they're getting!
