I think these must be like crumpets as they were meant to be originally. They are not full of air and are actually tasty.
These looked normal, perhaps a little thinner than ordinary crumpets, and toasted just the same. HOWEVER, they tasted overwhelmingly sweet, heavy, and not like sourdough at all. Ate two and put the others in the bin. A shame, as 'Tesco Finest' items are usually very good. I shall not be buying these again, but sticking to Warburtons 9's for flavour and lightness.
Nice but too sweet for me
Nice texture, good height, toasted well. For me, they didn't stand out enough to buy again, as to my taste they seemed more sweet than sour, and the sweetness lingered for quite a while afterwards, overwhelming the salty butter I'd used. I feel they'd be more suitable for someone wanting a sweet treat than a savoury one.
Not to my taste
Not to my taste..like eating rubber
The ordinary ones are MUCH nicer.
great crumpets-a little more compact & textured than normal crumpets-good with cheese on
Will not buy any other than these from now on.
great texture, great taste!
I accidentally picked these w@nky Shoreditch-y sourdough crumpets instead of the generic ones, but OHGOODGOD. I can never go back to generic again. GET THEM. PANIC BUY THEM.
Husband totally loves these. Nuff said.
hardly worth rating
To me, not that much different to the normal ones which I much prefer. These are more expensive, too. Wouldn't bother with them again. Not a nice taste.
