Preparation and Usage
Just Add- 2 Chicken breasts- White rice1 Blue Dragon Katsu Curry KitVegetable oil to shallow fry2x Chicken breasts, flattened to1cm ThicknessCooked white riceFor an authentic Katsu Curry with just 4 ingredients...1 Coat - Combine the batter mix with water then coat the chicken or veggies, dip the coated chicken/veg into the panko breadcrumbs until evenly covered2 Sizzle - Shallow fry the breaded chicken/veg for 5 minutes each side, or until golden and cooked through3 Simmer - Warm the Katsu curry sauce in a saucepan for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.Serve with steamed rice and enjoy!A restaurant favourite which originated in Japan, Katsu Curry combines breaded & fried meat or vegetables with a smooth curry sauce resulting in a delicious meal.1. Coat - Combine the batter mix with 100ml of water, take the chicken breast cover with cling film and flatten with a rolling pin to 1cm thickness then coat in the batter. Dip the batter coated chicken into the panko breadcrumbs until evenly covered pressing down firmly so that the breadcrumbs stick well.2. Sizzle - Pour the oil into a pan to 2cm depth, heat the oil and shallow fry the breaded chicken for 5 minutes each side, or until golden and cooked through. Once cooked, place on kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.3. Simmer warm the Katsu curry sauce in a saucepan for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Alternatively, heat the sauce in a microwave: pour the sauce into a bowl and heat on full power (800W) for 2 minutes.Remove the bowl and stir the sauce.4. Enjoy - For an authentic Katsu curry slice the chicken diagonally, spoon the sauce onto the plate and place the chicken on top of the sauce with steamed rice and enjoy!
