What have they done to Bassetts jelly babies?
Guessing from the name change from Bassetts to Maynards Jelly Babies are the latest victim of a takeover. They've turned jelly babies (a decades old favourite) tasteless chewy and generally unpleasant. I won't be buying them any more.
Not bad, bring back Tesco own brand.
Not a bad flavour, but rather chewy with all the gelatin in them, which isn't a traditional jelly for jelly babies. The best jelly babies are Tesco's own brand which have disappeared off the shelf. I am waiting for them to come back I think.

Needs to have a better mixture of flavours
The jelly babies are ok, a little on the cloying side, but it was annoying to find that there were only 2 lime, 2 orange and 1 lemon flavour, ALL the rest were blackcurrant and raspberry, and no one wanted the latter, so they were wasted. I see that Tesco's version have a good review and are cheaper, so I'll order them in future.

An emotional journey
I like that they look like babies but they're made of jelly. They are quite cute babies, which makes me feel bad and slightly cannibalistic when consuming them. However, this feeling is swiftly replaced with a fruity sweet tang on the tongue, and all is well again.
