Preparation and Usage

Defrosting InstructionsDefrost your turkey thoroughly on a tray in a fridge (no more than 4°C) allowing 10 to 12 hours per kg. Once defrosted remove the packaging (retain the label on the front of the bag), giblets and neck. Check that there are no ice crystals in the body cavity and that the legs are flexible before cooking. Once thawed do not refreeze. Once defrosted keep refrigerated and consume within two days.

Oven cook

Instructions: 1 Place turkey in a roasting tin and allow to stand at room temperature for an hour before cooking2 Cover turkey loosely with lightly greased foil3 Cook turkey in a preheated oven, removing the foil for the final 90 minutes4 Remove from oven, cover with foil and rest for 30 minutes before carvingPreheat oven to:180°C/160°C Fan/Gas Mark 4Weight (kg): Less than 4kg, Approximate cook time: 20 minutes per kg + 70 minutesWeight (kg): Greater than 4kg, Approximate cook time: 20 minutes per kg + 90 minutesCheck that the turkey is cooked by piercing the thickest part of the turkey with a skewer. When the turkey is cooked the juices should run clear. Please note all appliances vary, the cooking times above are guidelines only and the turkey should be checked during cooking to avoid under or over cooking.
