Very drinkable fizz

Review from tesco.com

This wine was a very pleasant suprise as it wasn't one I'd ever tried but the offer was good. It is dry and light but not sweet as pink's often are and excellent wine with chinese and thai food or just a bowl of crisps and some friends to share it with

Excellent Sparkling Rose

I've never been disappointed with anything in the Cono Sur range and this "off Brut" sparkler is no different. It's good when it's on around £10 but superb when on offer. The white is equally good.

Bubbly beauty

Review from tesco.com

Cono Sur Sparkling pinot noir Rose review Well done to the lucky winner. I know i'm terribly late with my review but i was actually saving this little beauty for our New Years Eve celebrations. So how did it go? Well by the time the fireworks had finished and the last of our Tesco finest party food had been gobbled up i had broken into a verse of "i love you baby". I realise this might sound a little strange but actually the lyrics are quite apt: Pardon the way that I stare There’s nothing else to compare The sight of you leaves me weak There are no words left to speak You see this is a really unique little sparkler - tasty, fruity, holds its bubbles well and not sickly sweet. It has the rich fruitiness of a red but the light, amiable appeal of a prosecco. It's a real party drink and actually you feel quite special with a glass of this pale pink beauty in your hand. At the bargain price of £9.99 it knocks the socks of some of its more expensive competitors.

Close, but no cigar!

First off, lovely bottle and very stylish. I'm a big fan off Cono Sur, their Especial Riesling is my favourite white wine and has been for a couple of years now. Lots of bubbles and a good whiff of strawberries was the first impression, having had a quick taste immediately after pouring it appeared very refreshing. We would normally have a pink sparkler on it's or as an aperitif, but on this occasion decided to have it with food - maybe this is where we went wrong as it lacked any sort of body and was void of much flavour. I'd need to give this another go without food and hope it tasted as good as the first whiff was. We had Codorniu Vinatge Rose Cava recently and that was much better with a fuller, longer finish.

Celebratory sparkler

Review from tesco.com

This wine is a beautiful vibrant pink with a fine mousse of bubbles; on the palate flavours of ripe red cherries and wild strawberries leap forth and the soft bubbles spread the deliciousness in the mouth. The finish is long and refreshing and all too soon the bottle will be finished. This is a great wine for celebrations both looking and tasting the part, definitely one for the shopping trolley come birthdays, Valentine's day etc. A winner all round.

...kicks up easy.....

Review from tesco.com

I can’t remember having enjoyed any sparkling wine as much as this, in a long time. Strongly fruit driven, cranberries more than strawberries to the fore, dry at first taste but as the fruit kicks-up easy-round-the-gums as a stand-alone aperitif, it shows a lot of frizz’ in the glass and on the tongue. I struggle with a food match where me, pink and sparkling is concerned, but we gave it a go with black and pimento-stuffed green olives, pan friend slices of halloumi cheese and houmous on wholemeal pitta, and the saltiness of that combination seemed perfectly appropriate. I bet some fancy Stilton-and- something type luxury crisps might have worked too! Bio Bio Valley, pronounced Bee-o Bee-o, is well south in Chile, in typicality an area and climate not unlike northern France, perfect for growing the delicate Pinot Noir. Now then, is there a still Pinot Noir to be had from the Bio-Bio as well? Must go and investigate!

Cono Su(r)perb! elegant sparkler for any occasion

Review from tesco.com

A stylish bottle - reminiscent of Dom Perignon - a good sign. Another good sign, it is made from 100% Pinot Noir, a classic champagne grape. The well chilled bottle opened with a resounding pop. On pouring I noted the lovely salmon pink colour and steady stream of fine bubbles. I could not wait to taste it. I was not disappointed. Wonderfully crisp, smooth and fruity - a hint of strawberries coming through - with a good finish. I also that, not only was there length on the palate, but the stream of bubbles kept on coming. It has a hint of sweetness and is refreshing unlike some pink fizz which can be cloying. An elegant sparkling wine which would be fantastic as a celebratory party drink, as an aperitif or with a seafood starter. I also could imagine serving it with dessert where the fruitiness would match a light creamy pud. This is a real discovery; a delicious refined wine from the always reliable Cono Sur Winery which could pass as something much more expensive. I love it .
