Cooking Instructions

Instructions: As appliances vary, the following are guidelines only.

Deep Fry

Instructions: Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into 1cm slices, then into sticks. Soak in water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a clean tea towel. Deep fry at 170°C/340°F for 4-6 minutes and lift out just as they start to colour. Raise the heat to 190°C/375°F and plunge the chips back into the oil for a further 2-3 minutes until golden. Finally drain the chips on absorbent paper and serve.

Hob

Instructions: Wash potatoes and peel if required. Place in a saucepan of water, covering the potatoes and add salt if required. Cover and simmer gently for 18-20 minutes or until tender. Drain and serve.
