Use by Date too short
Enjoyed this last time I ordered. However today (Wednesday) on Click & Collect found use by date was today - not 2+ days! Fortunately I had planned to use tonight so won't complain - but should have been warned on paperwork in case I wanted for Friday!
Very happy to find Mackerel without all the added salt etc. We marinade these with a little turmeric and seasoning for an hour and then shallow fry until skins are just crispy. The kids love them.

Very disappointing. Had these before and ok. This pack of two fillets had 19 bones. Will not be buying again.
Rather like fishy cardboard.
Rather like fishy cardboard. Maybe I cooked them wrongly, but I followed the instructions. Won't be buying them again.
Incredibly good value
These respond best to a quick wash and dab dry, then get out your kitchen tweezers and pull what pin bones you can see. I give them a squirt of teriyaki sauce and black pepper and shove them under a fast grill, skin side up. Cooked in minutes when the skin is blistered and black. Great with new potatoes and a sharp acidic veg such as peppers or beetroot. Shame the fish counters are now closed and we can't get the whole fish any longer!
Pan-fried very well with no fuss. Tasty. Will get this again.
Really like it
Very good fillets, practical, when you know how difficult it is to eat mackerel without choking on the bones. I rinse them well and dry them before cooking them in a pan, with very little fat. Accompanied by a mixed salad, it's perfect. An excellent fish for its health qualities.
Lovely and nutritious.
Lovely dipped in oatmeal and fried, served with baby tatties and sweetcorn. I use it straightaway, or like all fresh fish, freeze till I need it, since fresh fish does not keep well. Also good marinaded in vinegar and baked in the oven, or baked with curry spices.
Tray Not Yet Recycled
very disappointing that the tray cannot be recycled
Mackerel is too oily for some and the whole fish has too many fiddly bones, but these fillets cook beautifully without much residual oil and if you get more than two bones you will have been very unlucky!
