Very hard bits in my box of these Mince Pies....
We have had these for years and they have been delicious. But this year they have not been nice at all - tasted completely different & I almost broke my tooth on something very hard in at least 2 of them & had to throw the remainder out.
The best mince pies
I've tried most of the supermarket mince pies and these are my favourite. Lovely pastry, delicious juicy filling with just the right amount of sweetness. Tastes like Christmas!
Pastry vs mince?
Recipe has changed, what is with this pastry, the pastry just tastes different this year, I cannot find a single mince pie that is not mainly pastry based?
Great mince pies for the price
These are lovely mince pies, particularly for the price. The pastry tastes buttery, there's plenty of filling.
Delicious budget individual mince pies. Much tast
Delicious budget individual mince pies. Much tastier than home made. They're jampacked with fruit mincemeat filling and the shortcrust pastry is thickly rolled and cooked to perfection. I cannot work out how Tesco could have superior Finest mincepies. I'm afraid they are very tempting so grazing is a problem. Ive eaten two tonight and my Husband could not resist trying one when passing through the kitchen. Advise customers to purchase more than one pack!
Nice mince pies - shallow-filled & buttery pastry
I tried these with low expectations. Upon opening the box, I initially noticed how poorly presented they were. The pastry tops were not on straight and mince was seeping over the sides. I certainly wouldn't serve these to guests based upon the aesthetics. Upon tasting them, I was very impressed. :) They're not deep-filled, but they're not advertised as so. They are advertised as having "butter enriched pastry" and the pastry was nice and buttery! In my opinion, these taste much nicer than the (horrid) Tesco Finest Mince Pies! If you like shallow-filled mince pies, I recommend these. If you want your mince pies deep-filled or for entertaining, go for Mr Kipling.
As near to homemade as possible in a factory
One of the best available, as near to home made as a commercial product could be - pastry not sweet and mincemeat nice and firm. If there was a minus point, the base of the pasty is just a little too thick and a bit more mincemeat would be even better.
you hve to try great price and so yummy
the best mince pies have tried them all thy are my go to mince pie so yummy
