Just not vinho verde

1 stars

Having just come back from Lisbon and trying vinho verde for the 1st time and loving it, I was very excited to see this in stock, however I am sorry but this lacks all the things that make a good verde, for a start it is not green and it is not even remotely fizzy. This is at best a passable dry white, but to call it verde is simply mis selling the wine.

Refreshing but not exceptional

3 stars

The wine is a whisker too tart.but at the price it's a refreshing summer evening drink.

white wine is good

5 stars

The wine is very dry just the way I like it.I just like the way it catch the back of my through , I find the wine goes with most meals..

Dry and Crisp

4 stars

Really enjoyed this wine, nice freshness, what I would expect for Vinho Verde. Can't understand the bad reviews. Good if you like dry, and sharp lemon flavours. would recommend

Delicious

5 stars

I bought a case of this after tasting it at an event at Christmas. WOW - Great freshness, lovely citrus flavours that you would expect from a Vinho Verde. The wine is dry and crisp, but with a good flavour which you just can't go wrong with. Would highly recommend.

Disappointing

1 stars

If you are a fan of vinho verde, you will probably expect the wine to be vibrant, slightly sparkling, very zingy and refreshing. This wine possesses neither of those qualities. The cheaper vinho verde sold by Tesco is much better.

Disappointed - absolutely!

1 stars

I should have known better 'richer and more complex' was more like disgustingly chemicalised wine at its very worst! I really like a good young Vinho Verde with its lemony crisp and dry, lightly 'buzzing' flavours. I'm surprised at Tesco's wine tasters who are normally very good at just how bad the contents of the bottle really were! So disappointing especially when I was so looking forward to my tipple on New Years Eve! Take it from me, only buy Vinho Verde if its truly from Portugal and has a cork and not a screw top and looks slightly green in colour - you won't go wrong!

What a let down

1 stars

Having been a fan of Vinho Verde for a long time, I bought the Tesco Finest expecting a step up from other Vinho Verde's. Boy was I wrong. The wine was weak and insipid. No body, lack of flavour, just terrible. I will certainly not be buying this again, and would advise anybody reading this review to steer well clear.

Nice easy to drink white!

4 stars

Nice fresh wine. This will go well with everything, especially fish and chicken.

Recently went to Madeirafor a holiday. Very much enjoyed Casal Garcia wine, so have tried to find an equivalent Vinho Verde in the UK. Unfortunately the wine bought from Tesco falls well short, I won't be repeating this purchase.
