It was created by a Boots chemist in response to a customer request for a product that would soothe and protect the skin.In 1963 physicians noticed E45 cream was a beneficial treatment for dry skin conditions. At this time, we only promoted our products to hospital sales departments. It wasn’t until 1980 that E45 cream was introduced to the pharmacy and retail establishments, where it was recognised for its efficacy in the treatment of dry skin.In the 1990s we extended our product range to include a complete skincare emollient therapy. We’ve continued to create products with patients and their skin in mind. We strive to continue to serve the needs of both patients and healthcare professionals and produce better treatment options for patients’ skincare routines.
GENTLE AND EFFECTIVE CLEANSING – E45 Shower Cream provides gentle and effective cleansing for very dry, sensitive, and itchy skin to leave your skin feeling clean, soft, and hydrated. The body’s optimal skin pH can be between 4.7 and 5.75, and it’s important to preserve this in order to maintain the skin’s protective barrier and the optimal acid environment, whilst inhibiting the growth of bacteria. Our shower cream cleanses and moisturises the skin whilst also preserving the skin’s pH.ACTIVELY MOISTURISES – The shower cream contains emollient ingredients to actively moisturise the skin whilst you shower, keeping it hydrated and preventing the skin drying out further. Moisturiser helps keep your skin looking and feeling nice but also protects the skin from external agents such as germs and pollution. You can use E45 Shower Cream daily on the body or hands to leave dry itchy skin feeling clean and hydrated.DERMATOLOGICALLY TESTED – E45 Shower Cream has been dermatologically tested and does not contain any perfume or soap, making it a gentle formulation that is suitable for everyday use on very dry, sensitive, and itchy skin. The cream does not foam and cleanses your skin without drying it out, leaving it clean and soft.
