Shrinking Logs
I was very happy with these until last week, logs are now 1cm+ shorter. more like 11 logs now. New packaging indicates this is not a mistake.
Not bad for wood burning stove.
1. It does take a fire lighter mini log to get it to burn. 2. Clean and less smoke than others I have used. 3. Does not last up to 2-3 hours per log and you need to top up. 4. Its cheaper than the logs I buy on amazon that lasts for 2-3 hours, hence the price. I would buy again but I would not rely solely on these types of logs e.g, mix with a mini fire lighters etc. I use a wood burning stove that controls the direction of the air flow so perhaps that is why I find them easier to burn. If its just an open fire place then I think these logs would be harder to fire up.
Damp squid
Literally the least flammable things I've ever encountered. Held them over the gas hob for 5 minutes and they still didn't catch light. You'd have more chance of setting fire to a waterlogged octopus.
Brilliant
I live on a narrow boat and would not be without these. They are easy to light and put out a lot of heat...perfect for warming my boat first thing in the morning. After an hour or so I put a bit of coal on which catches quickly because of the heat from the log. Highly recommend
Top tip
I understand some of the other reviews about difficulty in getting them alight but it’s a bit like a lot of smokeless fuels. We used them for the first time tonight. Lit the fire with a firelog, little bit of smokeless fuel pellets let it catch and then put this on. Caught straight away and burned for a good while.
Best option for smokeless hearty glow
Used these for the first time the other day, they were excellent, easy to light and burned well with hardly any smoke, the flames subsiding into glowing embers. We had previously used bags of 'seasoned' logs only to have to suffer regular coughing fits having been engulfed in clouds of smoke. These 'heatlogs' really are the best option for a small fire for you to sit close by and enjoy.
burns hot and for a long time great for log burner
burns hot and for a long time great for log burners
Not worth the hassle
Difficult to light, even with firelighter
Long lasting, good value and environmentally frien
Long lasting, good value and environmentally friendly. Throw out great heat. 25p cheaper than local stockist at the monument.
Rip off.
These logs are rubbish, hard to light and do not last. The hole running through the middle has just been trebled in size giving less to burn, but the price is the same. Very poor.
