Description

White WineThe 2020 vintage won gold at the New Zealand International Wine Show 2020.www.wineinmoderation.comFlavours of pear, guava and tropical fruits combine to create a full-bodied yet crisp Pinot Grigio. We take our name from Brancott Vineyard, the heart of the Marlborough wine growing region, but source fruit from up and down the East Coast, where this little beauty is from. Serve slightly chilled on its own or with delicate white meat, pasta or seafood dishes.
At Brancott Estate, doing things a little differently is in our DNA. Until the 1970s, Marlborough was just another pretty pocket of New Zealand, considered too cold for anything but sheep grazing. But with a little bit of flipped kiwi thinking, we didn't just see sheep, we saw opportunity. And we're glad we did because we went on to discover a crisp, refreshing new style of Sauvignon Blanc that's now loved the world over.

Screwcap

This wine opens with ripe peach, pear and apple aromas, and a hint of blossom, which carry through to the palate. The orchard fruits nestle on a soft and lively palate, with a medium body and pleasing, rounded texture. The finish is clean and fresh, with a touch of wild honey.

Vinification Details

The fruit for this wine was machine harvested using Pellenc Selectiv, from our vineyards in Marlborough, Hawkes Bay and Waipara. The juice was clarified and fermented with temperature control, in stainless steel, using selected aromatic yeasts. The components were brought together at our Marlborough winery for blending. The wine was stabilised and filtered before bottling, and no oak was used in the winemaking.
