Expanding from our home in Rioja Alta, we started producing wines from Vino de la Tierra de Castilla and D.O. Catalunya. In late 2013 we merged brands with one of the largest Cava producers in Spain, moving all wines from the Marques de Monistrol brand name to Monistrol by Berberana.

Deep ruby red, showing qualities from oak ageing. The nose is flooded with vanillin, tobacco, spices and a warming, earthy core of fruit. On the palate there is a real juiciness to this wine, with sprightly tannins and cherry acidity . Round and full, well balanced, long and elegant.

Vinification Details

Fermentation is carried out under temperature controlled conditions never exceeding 28ºC. The wine is initially kept in vats for a period of 12 months and then transferred to American oak casks where it matures for 24 months. Further bottle ageing takes place before it is released.
