One Of The Best
this wine is the best i have tasted in a long time at a good price to.
Decent wine, Decent Price
I liked this wine and thought it value for money. As you would expect from a Nero D'Avola it had a good strong flavour (14%). Would buy again. Screw top was also a plus.
Because I travel to Sicily regularly, I am a bit spoiled. I have had gorgeous Nero D'Avolas in their home country and nothing can compare to those. This wine is acceptable but nowhere near the wines that never leave Sicily.
A blast of a wine !
OK, subtle it ain't. But drink it with robust Italian food, meat, garlic, tomato sauce, hefty pastas etc., and it comes into its own. Hearty and fruity, but with a touch of bitterness. And maybe settle down to Montalbano on the telly. Just right.
Great value for money
If you like BIG wines then look no further....... Quite simply fantastic value for money. If you want subtlety, delicate flavours then look away. But if you want great blockbusting red wine look no further - perfect for the upcoming barbecue season.
One of my favourite..
A fantastic drink with anything ar anytime bottle of red
great wine for typical food.....
I've had this before and can't think why I didn't head back for lots more or submit a review. It's not a world-beater by a long chalk but what it is perfect for is accompanying typical Italian dishes of pasta and pizza where lots of meat and tomato attach. Something fairly robust needed then, certainly fruity with some restrained tannins without being too over-hearty, to wash this kind of food down. This is perfect in that respect and it came in on a deal of typically being 9.99 but mine was got at 4.50! That gets it an extra star from me. Worthy of being rated Finest of its type.
Tesco Fimest Nero D'Avola
Slightly disappointing on depth of body. Slight after taste of dryness and tannin.
A good wine for the price.
I paid £4.47 per bottle for this wine a few weeks ago...special offer, and I'm very pleased with the quality. The current price, however, is £7.99 a bottle, which is too much.
Although this is outside my usual range of Merlots, Sharazes and Cabernets, I thought I'd avail myself of the financial advantage of purchasing (with hesitation) a wine of the week and was pleasantly surprised - it was smooth, not too sweet yet [too easily] drinkable. An old dog can be taught new tricks - WELL DONE!
