Few blends offer any age statement. 8 Years Old defines the age of the youngest whisky in the blend, the majority of the malts in Isle of Skye are much older.Origins in that most widely celebrated of Scottish Islands: Skye, home of the Clan Macleod. An exceptionally smooth and mellow Blended Scotch Whisky containing a high proportion of carefully selected Island and Speyside Malts.Honey/vanilla sweet Speyside flavour allied to smoky/peaty Island influences to give a well balanced distinctive blend.
A Blend of Epic ProportionsThe place was Skye - the largest island of Scotland's inner Hebrides. Shaped by the black Cuillin Mountains, wild seas and hidden valleys, Ian Macleod poured his very soul into a secret family recipe rich in island tradition. He sought only the most exceptional peated island malts, matching them with smooth speyside and highland malts and grain whiskies. True to the clan motto ‘Hold Fast', Macleod then insisted every cask spend at least eight years coming of age - to create a deep, complex dram worthy of the name Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky.
Isle of Skye - home of the clan Macleod - is the most celebrated of Scotland's Islands, famous for its majestic scenery and a heritage rich in historical legend and romantic adventure. Our founder, Ian Macleod, was justifiably proud of his family's unique 19th century recipe for this acclaimed scotch whisky.
