Absolutely disgusting! Worst Malbec I've ever tasted.
Not as good as the Argentinian "Finest" product
Not as good as the Argentinian version, lacks body. OK value when on special offer, but it's not one I would rush to buy again.
A tricky, inconsistent brew!
This, like many other wines stocked and delivered by Tesco, is a tricky, inconsistent brew ... only more so. Nearly no decent red stands up to the inconsistent storage and/or delivery conditions at Tesco (e.g. don't buy in summer; don't shake this one too much; why is this bottle so warm?). However, this particular wine, irrespective of the 'state' of other bottles delivered on the same day, simply is not consistent, whether it's been shaken about or not: I've had bottles that wipe the floor with any other Malbec in my collection - delicious, deep, full-bodied, well-balanced, smooth. And I've had bottles that wipe the floor with my duodenum and ileum - maybe for replacing apple cider vinegar in a Bolognese, else for unclogging the drains, maybe? This is frustrating, because it's too expensive for the gamble; so I now only put it as a sub for other Malbec bottles in the same price range. Whatever they're doing at the winery (or is that wineries and some are better than others?), this could be a great Malbec - and is on a good day - were it not for too many spoilt bottles.
Probably the worst ever supermarket wine
Absolutely disgusting. Tasted like vinegar, with an even worse aftertaste. I took one sip then poured the rest down the drain. I will certainly stay clear of Tesco "finest" wines in future, if they think this is good then they don't have a clue.
The 2018 version is a perfect example of good qual
The 2018 version is a perfect example of good quality French Malbec.Classic dark purple colour .Multiple savoury fruit flavours which become richer over 2-3 days .Patience will be rewarded. If you are used to the more immediate impact of new world malbecs you might find it takes a while to open up and reveal its charms. My advice is day 1 open it and pour out 1/2 a glass .Leave for 1/2 hour and then drink it .Apply vacuvin or similar to bottle and store in cool place for 24 hours.Day 2 pour out 1/2 the remaining wine into a carafe and leave for 1 hour to come to room temperature..Enjoy.Vacuvin the remaining wine and store in cool place for another 24 hours.Day 3 same process as day 2.Enjoy a lot
Good for your chips
This is an appalling bottle of wine, so thin as to be almost acidic. Completely devoid of fruit. The buyer should be sacked. Steer well clear. Tesco have some excellent malbecs. Choose another.
Eat with this
Strictly a table wine. Not for standalone drinking. Flat and featureless. Slightly improved flavour second day.
Ii love malbec but this really wasnt good my partner and I both agreed
Best so far Tesco. Smooth, fruity. Decant first. Will buy again if available.
Low tannin, big flavour
This is a great wine, low in tannins and great to drink with food or on its own with friends. Big fruit flavours.
