Disappointing loaves

3 stars

I have used Warburtons Wholemeal bread for many years. Recently this became unavailable. When it reappeared on the shelves it was labelled mild and soft. I have to say that the loaves I have bought recently, all within the use by date, have been dry and very disappointing. I have resorted to trying other makes but cannot find another bread which comes up to the standard of what Warburtons has been in the past. I do keep trying the occasional Warburtons loaf in the hope that it will improve again.

Mouldy day after best before.

It didn’t feel very fresh and had a sell buy date of 22nd August 2020. Was mouldy by 23rd! I normally freeze leftover bread but hoped for at least another day. Stored in larder out of sun.

There was no taste in this bread and it was a bit dry too. Will not buy again. I usually have Kingsmill tasty whole meal which seems unavailable now. Disappointing for a brand which over all I do like.

We always buy this bread, it's delicious & excellent value, quality, healthy bread. Keeps well in the freezer too & just as nice defrosted in the toaster or for sandwiches etc. I'm happy this hasn't got added sugar in it. I'm also happy that Warburtons use sustainable palm oil.

Not nearly as tasty as Kingsmill version, which Tesco appear to have stopped selling, AGAIN!

A good all rounder that tastes delicious

A lovely, nutty, wholemeal taste. The bread is soft, but can hold it's own when piled with filling. Doesn't go crusty and crumble when toasted, which is a pet hate of mine as most of my bread is bought for toasting. An all round good loaf with not a bad price.
