Preparation and Usage

  • All you need is...
  • 1 medium egg yolk
  • 280ml (1/2 pint) water
  • 10 Prep' time
  • 30 to set
  • Filling for 1 pie...
  • Pour the contents of one sachet into a saucepan.
  • Stir in 280ml (1/2 pint) of water and 1 medium sized egg yolk.
  • Over a low heat, stir continuously until the mixture bubbles and boils.
  • Simmer for 1 minute and then remove from the heat.
  • Pour the liquid into a suitable serving dish and allow to cool.
  • Lemon Meringue Pie...
  • All you need is: Pre-Baked 18cm (7") Pastry Case, 2 Medium Sized Egg Whites, 110g (4oz) Caster Sugar.
  • Pre-heated oven to 150°C (140°C for a fan oven). 300°F. Gas Mark 2.
  • Place the pre-baked pastry case on a baking tray.
  • Make the Lemon Flavour Pie Filling as directed above and pour the pastry case. Leave to cool.
  • Whisk 2 medium sized egg whites until stiff.
  • Whisk in the caster sugar, a quarter at a time, until all of the sugar is incorporated and the meringue forms stiff peaks.
  • Spread the meringue over the filling until completely covered.
  • Bake in the centre of the oven for 25 minutes. Serve warm or cold. If serving warm, allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Loved this filling you can make lemon meringue pie or lemon tart by swopping water for 80ml of cream. Will def use this again it's so easy to make.

My mother always used this product. Now i am using it too. It is the most delicious filling i have ever tasted in lemon meringue pie. No others can match up to this lemon filling. I just hope they NEVER change this recipe. Fantastic.
