You get what you pay for
Dry, tasteless, falling apart.
they keep sending me these as a substitute and I keep sending back absolutely horrible, doughy and tasteless,
Awful sticky glutinous rolls
Disgusting, sticky texture, like chewing lumps of gluten. The worst rolls I've ever eaten. Toasting doesn't even help.
Inedible and uncooked
2 packets delivered Friday for the weekend, when opened all the rolls were soft on the outside but wet and doughy on the inside, raw in fact as the rolls left the bread knife smeared in dough! Definitely a bad ‘batch’! Cost refunded but it meant I had to go out to buy replacements when during lockdown the idea is to stay at home.
Two packets delivered midmorning yesterday and both are best before today, so do not believe the 2+ days claim. They weren't marked as short date so I only realised this morning. I specifically bought these for the longer life span. Maybe they would have been better if they were fresher (mine were best eaten before today afterall), they are dry and don't hold their shape well if using a warm filling. When using a cold filling they don't seem to like having anything spread on them without crumbling and sticking to knife. Do not buy if you care about the presentation of your food. The texture isn't a nice mouth feel, so don't buy if you care about the taste of your roll. If you just want something to hold your filling to get it to your mouth, consider something else as these are likely to leave half the filling on your lap. If you really don't care, buy them.
Dreadful, shouldn’t be called bread
How to ruin good food! These are dreadful. Well made bread is glorious. These don’t deserve to be called bread. Was sent them as a substitute for some Country Miller rolls which have now been removed from Tesco’s range! Why, they were good. Has anyone at Tesco actually tried this bread? These certainly aren’t a substitute. Very disappointed Tesco.
Dry and tasteless.
Found them very dry and tasteless, they fell apart trying to spread soft cheese on them and I found them hard to eat as the texture wasn't nice at all. They had 3 days until use by date too and the packaging was well sealed (unlike bakery rolls which are always open) so it wasn't that making them dry either. Won't buy them again.
Given these rolls with one day left until they expired on delivery so most of them will end up in bin!
I’m sorry to have to say that these rolls are horr
I’m sorry to have to say that these rolls are horrible. My husband is Scottish and says they’re the worst rolls he has ever had.
After 5 days in the freezer they fall apart
These were delivered to me on 17th June and froze them immediately. Defrosted at room temperature yesterday (not in the microwave) but they fell apart when "spreaded" and more so when we tried to eat them. The top came away in shards and the rest just fell away. Messy, hopeless, very disappointed. As we are strictly shielding it means I have to buy bread and rolls online from Tesco and expect to be able to freeze these products for future use - and after all 5 days is nothing! Don't expect to be able to freeze and have a viable roll.
