Good quality for the price
This saffron is of decent quality for the price although it’s not of the finest quality. Ignore the negative comments because saffron does smell medicinal and the flavour also . If you are familiar with saffron you’ll know ! The best saffron is Persian/Iranian for always. But recently in the last decade in Afghanistan there has been a project to stop farmers producing opioids to now grow saffron. And now they have been winning awards all over the world and in my experience and opinion the best saffron you can get . I use saffron for medicinal purposes for relaxing tea And can tell you that Tesco saffron will do the job well. And make a great paella
Terrible saffron, don't waste your money
Little plastic packet inside of jar. Horrible smell when opened. Soaked for 20 mins in warm milk. Still smelled horrible. Asked hubby for his opinion. He said don't use it it will kill the dish. Threw it all away. Wrong colour/smell and no idea where it came from (I think it was very old). Another Tesco product binned unused, its starting to add up to quite a sum of money. What's the Tesco slogan ... every little helps... yeh right!
Had a metallic / medicinal taste very unpleasant
