Harsh and unpleasant
This is the worst single malt whisky I have tasted. Upon removal from its box its colour appears unnaturally brown, perhaps the result of a synthetic caramel addition. It is harsh in mouth and throat, producing burn not warmth. The rest of the bottle may find service as an industrial degreasant.
Beautiful malt

I really enjoyed the Bowmore 12 years. A smooth oaky Scotch, a great full body whiskey. Highly recommended to the big whisky lovers out there.
A whisky with a smoky peat aroma and flavour
Review from BOWMORE
The Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (aged 12 years) has an attractive smoky peat aroma, but the aroma generally may not be as intense as some other whiskies. The reported lemon aroma is noticeable but is very subtle. When it comes to the flavour and unlike Scotch whiskies from other locations however, the Bowmore Islay Single Malt has a noticeable smoky peat taste (particularly when served neat) and there are very subtle sweet/honey notes - the peat smoky flavour is more dominant, particularly initially. I haven't tried any smoky/peat-flavoured whiskies before but it did taste interesting. Whiskies of this type come from a very small part of Scotland called Islay where they're renowned for this taste. Islay peat is reputedly the best flavoured for scotch production and it's what makes Islay whiskies genuinely special. Would I buy this product for myself, for others as a gift or recommend it to others? Certainly. By purchasing this product you're getting something that comes from both a location and a company that are rich in history, as well as something that could be considered to be a rarity due to its origin and therefore taste - it's unlike other other varieties of Scotch whiskies I've tried from other locations.
Delicious

Smokey, earthy and smooth. Up there with some of the best I've had.
Smoky tones
Review from BOWMORE
A great slightly unique nightcap. This has smoky tones, and an earthy taste when drank neat. I did also enjoy with ice and lemonade.
Surprisingly Satisfying
Review from BOWMORE
Being a wine drinker whiskey isn't something I drink on a regular basis so to think I'd be drinking whiskey 'on the rocks' would usually be unthinkable! However, Highland Park Dragon Legend is in a league of its on; being a novice whiskey drinker it's pleasant, peaty taste went down a real treat! No mixer required!
Not a whiskey drinker but a brilliant introduction
Review from BOWMORE
As my strap line suggests I'm not a whiskey drinker and I'd hate to pretend I was. The package it came in was dramatic as is the amber inside. It had notes of vanilla, smoke and earthy... dragon by name dragon by nature. For me this was an easy drink and warmed me up from the cockles of my heart. If I was to chose a whiskey again it would have to be this.
Very nice and Smokey

I was lucky enough to be able to test this as part of a free trial and I was pleasantly surprised. It's Smooth and Smokey and very easy to drink. I also love the bottle and it looks great In any drinks cabinet. Will buy again for sure
Good Colour and body
Review from BOWMORE
Was sent this to try free and have to say at first glance I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging. The bottle looked great and made me think would make a nice gift for someone. I tried the whisky in a number of different ways, neat, on-ice, with water and with Ginger Ale. I have to say I found that whilst it has a lovely dark colour, the aroma is very heavily smoked and this made it too much for me to drink neat. When poured on Ice it lost some of the aroma and most of the taste through being too cold so not a good idea. When some room temperature water was added, this brought out a lovely depth to the flavour of the Whiskey, but again for me it was just too smoky. I then performed the ultimate sacrilege and mixed it with Ginger Ale, this for me made it the most enjoyable, but I couldnt help thinking I would never normally do that to a malt whisky and this would be a waste.
Great smoky smooth scotch
Review from BOWMORE
Great tasting scotch and goes easy on the rocks or with water. You get a taste of vanilla and cardamomum afterwards with smoky through every sip.
