Tasting Notes

The Loire Valley produces some of the most sublime Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world, and Sancerre is the most famous region of all.

This one is classically elegant, with delicate gooseberry and citrus fruit flavours.

A heavenly match for seafood and goats cheese.

Storage Instructions

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years

Background

History

The area around Sancerre was likely first cultivated by the Romans, the steep sloping hills could provide the grapes with enough direct sunlight and warmth to fully ripen whilst allowing cold air to flow off the slope into the valleys below. These ideal climatic conditions have helped Sancerre gain the prestigious reputation this area enjoys today.
