This fine vintage champagne shows an elegant richness and an appealing complexity

This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 2 years
The Chanoine champagne house is the second oldest in Champagne, founded originally in 1730 by two brothers, Jacques-Louis and Jean-Baptiste. The brothers excavated the first ever champagne cellars in the town of Epernay that year. They travelled the length and breadth of Europe, introducing their champagne to the affluent society of the time.
Fabien Henry
Champagne the wine, may come only from Champagne the region, in Northern France. Limestone and clay soils, similar to those in Southern England, produce the finest quality grapes for making Champagne.

A very good champagne but not as good as the Tesco Finest Vintage.

I really enjoyed this Vintage Champagne, it had a depth of flavour you would expect with a vintage. Lots of bubbles and a lovely colour. This is the second case I have bought now.

What a way to celebrate any occasion with special friends and family. This champagne is of real value and quality for the price. We have now created a following for this vintage champagne amongst the people we care about and enjoy sharing their company. We all think that it holds it's own against several of the more expensive branded champagnes. In fact we all love it. It is always vibrant with lots of those lovely tight bubbles and has a great full lasting taste. Never enough in one bottle...

I've been a quality vintage Champagne drinker for over 60 years, and can be a bit snooty about it. Knew nothing of Chanoine Frres until buying a case to use for Black Velvet at a Boxing Day party. Took a taste and instantly knew it was far too good to mix: perfect tiny bubbles, elegantly mellowed flavours.

Bought this to accompany langoustines and lobster thought it went very well together as did the guests, liked it so much bought another two case the following month. Not to dry fresh tingling on palate kept my mouth alive and fresh. Also must admit price was very encouraging great deal.

This Champagndne is of excellent quality. There is a complexity of delicate flavours, a fine mousse and will certainly have a lengthy shelf life. I will surely purchase more should the opportunity present itself.

Thie was the first time I had tried this champagen from Tesco Wines and found it very palatable. There was a fine stream of bubbles which were well suspended and I found it dry but with a fruity zing. In all to be recommended.

We have enjoyed Chanoine Vintage champagne from Tesco for a few years now and we were so delighted to discover that its available again that we have stocked up. It is silky smooth , biscuity and NOT at all, like some champagnes, acetic. Our guests have always been extremely complimentary. We love it. Being 2006 vintage it can be kept and will improve in the bottle up to 2016 but drinks well now. Can't see it lasting !

A vintage champagne at 50% reduction...worth a try.My wife and daughter love champagne and both independently said how it was one of the nicest they have sampled and both persuaded me to order more.No regrets .It has the usual fiz but somehow its a bit more special, fresh, dry and lightly biscuity..At £18 a bottle its a delicious bargain.Friends we have shared it with have all commented on its freshness and taste.
