Winemaking at our place has been a tradition since 1847 when Johann Gramp planted his first vineyard on the banks of Jacob's Creek.
Bernard Hickin
Excellent winter rains were recorded across all grape growing regions throughout South Eastern Australia during the Winter prior to the 2011 vintage. Higher than average rainfall was also observed during the Spring months. This provided excellent soil moisture profiles and healthy canopy growth with minimal irrigation. Vineyard assessments were regularly undertaken by winemakers during the ripening period to identify parcels of fruit suiting the style of Jacob’s Creek Grenache Shiraz.

A pretty good example of a standard Australian Shiraz. We liked it, but not sufficiently to make it one of our favourites.

Very easy to drink with a nice fruity taste and I normally drink red wine with food, but this one is smooth enough to drink on its own. I have to say its good for the price when on discount, but there are others just as good at a better price

A medium bodied wine that tastes of berries. Soft and smooth on the tongue and an aftertaste with hints of spice. The usual excellent standard in Jacob's Creek

This wine is one of my favourites. It is soft, with lovely blackberry and dark plum flavours (please note I do not have a wine buff palate!). I find some reds have a harsh slightly licorice taste and smell, but this certainly doesn't. I enjoy it at room temperature, if a little cold I put it on a radiator for 10 minutes and this really brings out the softness and fruitiness. I have tried other Grenache- Shiraz, but for me Jacobs Creek get the perfect balance. And it is very reasonably priced!

For me, this wine is comparable to Chateau Neuf du Pape, but a fraction of the price. It is well worth stocking up on it whenever it is sold at a discounted price.
