Ready to cook light pastry, easy to use for all your favourite dishes

Information

Ingredients:

Wheat Flour, Water, Margarine, Ethanol, Sugar, Salt, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Margarine contains: Palm Oil, Water, Emulsifier (Mono- and Di-Glycerides of Fatty Acids, Sunflower Lecithins), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Salt

Temperature:Gas 6, 200°C

Time:15 to 25 minutes

Instructions:Remove from the refrigerator 10 minutes before use. Remove all packaging.

Pre-heat oven to 200°C/Fan180°C/Gas Mark 6. Unroll pastry and leave on baking
sheet provided.
Cut to required size. Place on baking tray. Brush pastry with a little milk or
beaten egg to glaze.
Place on middle shelf of pre-heated oven for 15-25 minutes or as stated time in
your recipe.

Freezing Guidelines:

Freeze on day of purchase. Use within one month. For freezing guidelines refer
to freezer manufacturer's handbook.

Defrosting:

Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in a refrigerator or for 1 hour at
room temperature.
IMPORTANT: If food has thawed, do not refreeze.

Apple and vanilla tart

1 pack Tesco Ready Rolled Light Puff Pastry
2 large eating apples Cox’s, Russets or Elstar
Juice of 1 lemon
25g butter, cut into small pieces
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp caster sugar
3 rounded tbsp apricot jam

Method:

Pre-heat oven to 220°C/Fan 200°C/Gas Mark 7.

Unroll the pastry and cut into rough circle about 23cm across, then slide onto
a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Peel, core and thinly slice the apples and toss in the lemon juice.

Tip them onto the pastry and spread them out with your hands, to within 2cm of
the edge curl it up a bit to stop the juices running off! Now dot the fruit
with butter and sprinkle on your sugar and vanilla.

Bake for 15 – 20 minutes – you want crisp pastry and soft apples. Warm the jam
in a pan, then brush over for a gorgeous, shiny glaze.
