Temperature:Fan 180°C, Gas 6, 200°C

Time:15-25 mins

Instructions:Pre-heat oven to 200°C/Fan180°C/Gas 6. Unroll pastry and leave on baking sheet
Cut to required size. Place on baking tray. Brush pastry with a little milk or
beaten egg to glaze.
Place on the middle shelf of pre-heated oven for 15-25 minutes or as stated
time in your recipe.

Remove from the refrigerator 10 minutes before use.
Remove all packaging.

Freezing Guidelines:

Suitable for home freezing.
Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date
Use within 1 month.


Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in the refrigerator or for 1 hour
at room temperature.
Once defrosted, do not refreeze.
Follow the preparation guidelines opposite.


Apple and Vanilla Tart

1 pack Tesco Ready Rolled Light Puff Pastry
2 large eating apples Cox’s, Russets or Elstar
Juice of 1 lemon
25g butter, cut into small pieces
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp caster sugar
3 rounded tbsp apricot jam


Pre-heat oven to 220°C/Fan 200°C/Gas 7.

Unroll the pastry and cut into rough circle about 23cm across, then slide onto
a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Peel, core and thinly slice the apples and toss in the lemon juice.

Tip them onto the pastry and spread them out with your hands, to within 2cm of
the edge, curling it up a bit to stop the juices running off! Now dot the fruit
with butter and sprinkle on your sugar and vanilla.

Bake for 15 – 20 minutes – you want crisp pastry and soft apples. Warm the jam
in a pan, then brush over for a gorgeous, shiny glaze.
