Sorry, this product is currently not available.
2014 Alsace Gewurztramier. Appellation Alsace Controlee. Produce of France.
A flavoursome, off dry, classic French white with aromas of fresh lychees, roses and subtle hints of spice. Produced traditionally by the award winning winemaker Michel Lihrmann, this wine stays on fine lees for a few months prior to bottling to preserve fruit aromas and freshness. Serve chilled as an aperitif, or as the perfect accompaniment to spicy Asian dishes or Thai curries. Alsace wine is from the north eastern corner of France. This area displays expansive landscape of history, tradition, culture and gastronomy. Amongst the ancient ruins, gothic cathedrals and half timbered houses lie vineyards that produce some of the most distinctive wines to be produced in France. With its lingering spicy aftertaste, the Gewurztraminer grape is the most full bodied, and sought after, of the Alsace wines.

For over 50 years, Cave de Turckheim has been operating from the pretty village of Turckheim, situated to the north west of Colmar. Widely regarded as one of the best co-operatives in the world, Cave de Turckheim has established itself as a quality-focused producer. Michel Lihrmann has been their senior winemaker for over 25 years. Favouring the drier styles of Alsace wines, he strongly believes that Alsace wines should be varietally typical and express pure fruit flavours
Produced 'traditionally' by winemaker Jean Michel Lihrmann - pneumatic pressing, temperature controlled fermentation, no finings and light filtration before bottling - all to preserve fruit and aromatic qualities and elegance. His philosophy is to make wines with good acidity and fruit balance
Grapes are selected from vineyards with diverse soils - limestone, granite, gravel, marl and sandstone - which impart different characters and styles to the overall blend, and harvested by hand and machine, depending on site
