Pale yellow in colour with a powerful bouquet of fresh citrus and white flower blossom.
The palate shows a tight structure and almost slate-like texture with lots of mineral complexity and good potential to age.
This wine should be stored in a cool dry place, and can be kept for up to 8 years.
Expert Comment " Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, David Schildknect, 01 Sep 10 Hauntingly-scented with iris, pineapple, quince, marzipan, and a hint of snuffed candle wick, it comes to the palate subtly oily, full-bodied ... and manages to establish an almost shimmering as well as persistent interaction between its fruit and mineral elements." Domaine FL is an exciting estate with 39 hectares of vineyards in some of Anjous most prized sites. Twenty one hectares cover Anjou, Coteaux du Layon and Quarts de Chaume, while 18 hectares line the slopes of the small hill of Epiré in Savennières, with four hectares of these in the highly-prized cru, Roche-aux-Moines. Loire fanatic Philippe Fournier founded the domaine in 2005, although the vineyards and winery have existed for far longer. His cellarmaster is Hugues Daubercies, but respected consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt also advises on the winemaking. As expected from a combination of fine sites (all of which are either organic or in conversion) and meticulous winemaking, the quality of the wines is exceptionally high.
