- Ask our Baker We asked our Bakery Manager of the year, Jon Woodcock the questions you would most like answered. Read Jon's responses
1. Why does my fresh bread have a one day best before date?
The date on our product is a display until date and not a best before date. We only sell our bread on the day of bake so it is fresh for our customers. Our bread is best when eaten as fresh as possible.
2. Can I freeze my fresh bakery bread?
Yes you can freeze your bread. We suggest that you slice it before freezing and ensure it is in a suitable plastic bag.
3. How can I make my bread last longer if I do not want to freeze it?
If you wrap your bread in a plastic bag it will keep your loaf fresher for longer, but may make your crust slightly softer. We use perforated film instore to keep your loaf crusty.
4. I want to try something different, what advice can you give?
We are constantly adding new products to our bakery range for you to try. We have recently introduced new products to our speciality bread range. Try our new 3 Cheese Bread which is loaded with Regato, Red Leicester and mature white Cheddar cheeses, or snack on one of our four new Pretzels.
5. We suggest you try...
Warming your baton in a warm oven for 4-5 minutes at 190c (375F/gas mark 5).
Or try cutting your baguette in half, rub with garlic cloves and add a drizzle of olive oil for your own garlic bread.
