Description

Bronze Turkey Class A with Giblets

Tesco Bronze Turkeys are reared on selected farms which are dedicated to producing these slow growing, high quality turkeys with a firmer 'meatier' texture and fuller flavour.

Temperature:Gas 5, 190°C

Instructions:Once thawed, remove turkey from bag and retain weight label which is located on
the tag at top of pack. Remove giblets from neck flap and neck from body
cavity. If you wish to stuff the turkey stuff the neck end only. For every 500g
of stuffing used, increase the total cooking time by 10 minutes. Place in a
roasting tin and brush with melted butter or oil, place some bacon across the
body and legs of the turkey in a lattice weave and place half an onion and half
a lemon into the cavity. Cover the bird loosely with foil. Roast in the centre
of a pre-heated oven following the guidelines on the weight label. Remove foil
for final 30 - 40 minutes of the cooking time to allow the turkey to brown.
Leave the turkey to rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

Cooking Precautions:

Adjust times according to your particular oven. (For fan assisted ovens cooking
times should be reduced. For best results refer to manufacturer's handbook.)
Poultry is cooked if the juices run clear when the deepest part of the flesh is
pierced with a thin skewer.
If juices run pink, continue cooking for a few minutes and retest.
Tesco recommends that all meat products are cooked thoroughly

Defrosting:

Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 38 - 62 hours in the refrigerator.

Check there are no ice crystals in the body cavity and that the legs are
flexible.
