Cooking Precautions:

Preparation Guidelines:

Cooking time: 15-20 minutes
Makes: 2x 20cm (8 inch) cakes or 12 cupcakes
You will need:
2 medium eggs; 90ml (6 tbsp) water; 2x 20cm (8 inch) round cake tins - greased
and lined with baking paper or 12 cupcake cases; cupcake tray.
Sponge Cake Method:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C /Gas Mark 5.
2. Empty the cake mix into a large mixing bowl and add the eggs and water.
3. Mix with an electric whisk on full power for 2 minutes.
4. Pour the mixture equally into the prepared tins and bake in the centre of
the oven for 15-20 minutes or until well risen and golden brown.
5. Once baked, leave to cool in the tray for 5 minutes before turning out onto
a cooling rack.
Cupcake Method.
1. Pre-heat the oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C /Gas Mark 5.
2. Place 12 cupcake cases into a cupcake tray.
3. Empty the cake mix into a large mixing bowl and add the eggs and water.
4. Mix with an electric whisk on full power for 2 minutes.
5. Divide the mixture equally between the 12 cases.
6.Place into the centre of the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until well risen
or golden brown.
7. Leave to cool.
