The fruit was mechanically harvested at night to retain and maximise fruit freshness and vibrancy. Fermentation on oak, along with post fermentation oak treatment has given the wine a delicate sweet peachiness, with an elegant palate structure. A small portion of the Chardonnay was put through malolactic fermentation adding palate weight and complexity to the wine.
160 years ago, one young man had a vision….' To create wines that would be prized in all markets of the world.' That vision would become reality. That man would become a legend. His name was Thomas Hardy. Five generations on, the Hardy family continues to nurture that vision and share with the world an array of award-winning wines that proudly carry the Hardy name.
Region where the grapes were sourced-padthaway 57%, riverland 3%, wrattonbully 8%, Mclaren Vale 4%, Langhorn Creek 1%. Itwas a warm mile summer with an even ripeing season, which allowed optimum flavour development. Padthaway and the Riverland have a climate well suited for growing vines, with warm summer days and plenty of sunshine allowing full fruit flavours and sugars to develop. This year we had an optimum ripening season, with mild days and cool nights allowing superlative flavour development.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 1 year
