Ready Rolled Shortcrust Pastry

Information

Ingredients:

Wheat Flour, Shortening, Water, Concentrated Lemon Juice, Potassium Sorbate, Shortening contains: Palm Oil, Rapeseed Oil, Water, Salt, Mono- and Di-Glycerides of Fatty Acids, Citric Acid

  • Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 3 days and by 'use by' date

Oven:

Temperature:Fan 180°C, Gas 6, 200°C

Time:10-15minutes

Instructions:Remove from the fridge 60 minutes before use. Remove all packaging and unroll,
leaving pastry on baking sheet provided, cut out as required. Place on middle
shelf in preheated oven for 10 - 15 minutes or as stated in your recipe.

Freeze on day of purchase. Use within one month. For freezing guidelines refer

Defrosting:

Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in a refrigerator, or for 2 hours
at room temperature
Follow the preparation guidelines above.
IMPORTANT: If food has thawed, do not refreeze.

Recipes:

Raspberry & Blueberry mini pie treats

Ingredients
1 pack Tesco Ready Rolled shortcrust pastry
Small punnet raspberry
Small punnet blueberries
A few redcurrants (optional)
Zest of 1 Lemon
1 tbsp. of lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp Demerara sugar
A little milk
Icing sugar

Method
Preheat oven to 200 C/ 400 F/ gas mark 6
Roll out the pastry and cut into circles large enough to fit in a rectangular
bun tin, making sure you keep enough aside to make lids too.
Jumble together the fruit, lemon juice and zest, cinnamon and sugar in a bowl,
then divide between the pastry cases. Pop the lids on and gently pinch the
edges together to seal. Don't forget to make a little slit in the top of each
pie to release the steam!
Brush with the milk and cook for 20-30 minutes, until the tops are browned and
the fruit juices are bubbling. Sprinkle over a little icing sugar and serve.
