Vinification Details
During the winemaking process we seek to achieve balance, elegance, texture and length of flavor. Only the best Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grapes selected during the harvest are used to make this Supertuscan. After each grape variety is fermented separately the wine is then blended by Antonella Conti. This Supertuscan blend was aged for 6 months in oak barriques which gives the wine structure, balanced tannins and complex flavours.
History
"Super Tuscan" is a generic term used to refer to great wines of Tuscany, labeled under the term "IGT" (Indicazione Geografica Tipica). Prestigious wine producers in Tuscany, confident in their winemaking know-how, decided to break the quality seal (DOC/ DOCG) and make the wines they believed in, using innovative grape blends. Wine lovers, journalists and the international wine trade now praise the quality of these wines. Thus, emerged one of the most renowned and sought after denominations in wine histo
Regional Information
Renaissance wine-makers begun making wine in Tuscany over 600 years ago. The rolling hills of Tuscany are the ideal location for growing grapes and the region is world famous for producing premium quality red wines such as the famous Chianti. This Super Tuscan is part of a modern, new-wave group of wine-makers who create wines that lie outside of the DOC classification because they include international grape varietite such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
