Ready Rolled Light Shortcrust Pastry
Ready to cook light pastry, easy to use for all your favourite dishes
Wheat Flour, Water, Concentrated Margarine, Dextrose, Ethanol, Salt, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Concentrated Margarine contains: Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil, Emulsifier (Mono- and Di-Glycerides of Fatty Acids, Sunflower Lecithins)

Temperature:Fan 160°C, Gas 4, 180°C
Time:15 to 25 minutes
Freeze on day of purchase. Use within one month. For freezing guidelines refer
to freezer manufacturer's handbook.
Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in a refrigerator or for 1 hour at
IMPORTANT: If food has thawed, do not refreeze.
Chicken & Leek Pies
1 pack of Tesco Ready Rolled Light Shortcrust Pastry;
250g leftover or ready-cooked boneless chicken;
4 shallots, finely chopped;
1 large leek, roughly chopped;
200ml chicken stock;
250g crème fraîche;
A small knob of butter;
A little milk for glazing.
Pre-heat oven to 200°C/Fan180°C/Gas Mark 6.
Melt butter in large frying pan. Add leeks and shallots and sweat over a medium
heat for a couple of minutes, add the stock and simmer for a further 5 minutes
or until softened. Add chicken to heat through then add crème fraîche in to the
mixture, stirring thoroughly for 2 minutes. Season to taste and leave to cool
for a few minutes.
Divide the mixture between mini pie dishes. Unroll the pastry and cut into
rough squares big enough to cover the pies, then drape one over each dish,
pressing down the edges to secure the pastry. Don’t forget to make a little
slit in the top of each pie to release the steam! Brush with the milk.
Bake for 20 – 30 minutes, until the pastry is a lovely golden brown and the
filling is piping hot.
